The Power of Parks

Watch this video link and see how Parks and Recreation impacts our community. (Video Link)

The Coomes Center is currently working on plans to expand the current Playstation to encompass a new fully ADA Inclusive Playground. This project comes from a need in the community for our children with special needs to have a playground they can use. Currently they have to travel to other cities to enjoy the benefits of a playground that meets their needs. Our new playground will not only meet but exceed the national standards. This project will bring national recognition to our community. The play environment will provide social interaction and support participation for all the children in our community.  The design will allow individuals to be successful and gain confidence through play. Children will be able to explore and participate at their own ability level. Safety will be of highest concern and priority while exploring and challenging themselves through play.

We are working in the community to raise funds for the overall project. If you or your company would like to become a financial donor to this project please contact Kevin Worley, Director of Parks and Recreation.
